The Literacy Must curriculum was developed and taught at Teachers College, Columbia University from 1985 until 2010.  Our program is now housed in Chelsea at 461 W 18th St , New York, New York 10011 yet instruction is on-line in order to accomodate students across the country.  This unique professional development opportunity has attracted a wide range of individuals who wish to develop expertise in the Orton-Gillingham approach to working with children and adults with dyslexia and related written language disorders.  As an Orton-Gillingham curriculum, we are proponents of the Science of Reading.  Additional resource information regarding the Science of Reading can be heard at the Podcast Sold A Story.

Our graduates include:
  • general classroom teachers
  • reading specialists
  • special education teachers
  • speech and language pathologists
  • early childhood educators
  • parents

Next courses offered will be presented via Zoom or in hybrid form depending on the physical local of prospective students.
