Literacy through Multisensory Teaching is a 501(c)3 nonprofit teaching center, accredited by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) and offering certification through the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA).

Judith Birsh, Ed.D., CALT, QI, is a recognized leader in the field of literacy education. She has a doctorate in reading and language from Teachers College, Columbia University, where she founded and directed the multisensory teaching of basic language skills courses. She is the editor of Multisensory Teaching of Basic Language Skills, 3rd ed. (Paul H, Brookes, 2011)
Catherine Ghassemi, CALT, QI has been the lead instructor of the multisensory courses and has taught the courses at Teachers College, on-site at schools outside New York City and also in the Hudson Valley location. She has also presented workshops for teachers and parents at the annual conference of Everyone Reading (formerly known as the New York Branch of the International Dyslexia Association) and is on the board of the Academic Language Therapy Association.
Margaret Williams, CALT. QI has taught the multisensory courses at Teachers College, also on-site at schools outside New York City as well as the Hudson Valley location.
Jean DeVre, CALT, QI has taught the multisensory courses at Teachers College and at the Hudson Valley location. She is currently the co-chairperson of the New York City Chapter of ALTA.
Nancy Patton, CALT, QI has taught the multisensory courses at the Hudson Valley location.
